no wonder, people most people enjoy a love story-whether it's a book, a movie, a song or a well-matched couple in the neighborhood. But all too often romantic notions distort our concept of courtship and marriage. Not that romance is bad- but all of us have to admit in our more reflective moments that life involves more than stars in the eyes.

Browse through your local bookstore. The shelves bow under the weight of books that advise couples on how to savor married life and that coach parents on how to cope with children. But how many books offer down-to-earth suggestions for couples who date?

Surely, if we are intelligent enough to put men on the moon and satellites in orbit around the Saturn, anticipating and avoiding the hazards that might destroy he venture, it should not be beyond our ability to devise a plan for marriage preparation that would eliminate the hazards of that undertaking.
